The Pearl Qatar, the largest private freehold property in the region, was given the “Judges’ Supreme Award” at the Construction Week Awards 2005, the annual event celebrating regional excellence in construction and property development. The awards took place, in a glittering annual ceremony held at Fairmont Hotel, Dubai. The event was attended by more than 200 representatives from the Middle East’s construction industry.

The Judges’ Supreme Award is chosen from a highly competitive list of winners from the 19 other award categories presented on the night. Of these, and in addition to the Supreme Award, The Pearl-Qatar also claimed a prize for; Reclamation Project of the Year, Project of the Year (Qatar) and Major Project of the Year.

The $2.5 billion offshore Pearl Qatar snatched the award due to its Riviera-style man-made island, covering 985 acres of reclaimed land. It is Qatar’s first international real estate venture as well as the largest real estate development in the country. It also offers residential rights to international investors. It will create over 30 kilometres of new coastline on the previously existing pearl diving site. The Pearl-Qatar’s name and location, leverages the country’s traditions, and strong historical and cultural ties to the sea – it is an island rediscovered.

Sabban Property Investments, the Gulf-based family-owned real estate property development company, is developing its largest and most exciting project, the three luxury Sabban Towers, on the award-winning project’s biggest harbour; Porto Arabia.

Imad Nached, General Manager of Alshamel and Lifestyles Homes and Properties (the sales and marketing representatives for Sabban Property Investments) commented, “We are proud to be working so closely with SPI on this project, which has not only led the latest construction boom in the Gulf, but has brought a new way of thinking to the sector. The Pearl-Qatar will eventually house over 30,000 residents in an up-scale, multi-cultural residential community which will be a secure and exclusive retreat, bringing the ambience and lifestyle of the Mediterranean to the heart of Arabia.”

“We are deeply honoured and pleased to represent the Sabban Towers which are being built on this award-winning reclaimed Island. Our marketing analysis and research is greatly buffered due to this prestigious award which aligns with our ambition to assist developers and investors alike throughout the Middle East. We look forward to the positive impact that this award will generate for us.”
