ALBAWABA - A Chinese biotech firm is pioneering pet cloning for those yearning to reunite with their deceased animal companions, but this advanced technology comes at a premium price.
Sinogene, the biotech firm, is diligently working to fulfill the wishes of pet owners who seek to clone their dearly departed cats and dogs. Impressively, the company has successfully cloned over 500 beloved pets thus far.
From pet enthusiasts worldwide, samples of their late pets' skin are sent to Sinogene's headquarters located in Beijing, where they place orders for a perfect genetic replica.
Remarkably, the company's storage facility currently houses over 4,000 frozen cell samples from a variety of animals, preserved with the chilling embrace of liquid nitrogen.
The cloning process entails placing the cells of the desired pet into a suitable egg within a controlled laboratory environment, and subsequently, these are transferred to surrogate animals.
Before being reunited with their owners, the newborn puppies and kittens receive three months of meticulous care and observation in a clinical setting.
According to company authorities, cloned pets exhibit an astonishing 99.9% genetic similarity to their dearly departed counterparts. However, the privilege of pet cloning comes at a substantial cost of $50,000, which roughly amounts to 1.5 million Turkish Liras.
