Philips Medical Systems presented several new healthcare and diagnostic devices during the recent Arab Health Exhibition, of which the company has been a platinum sponsor of the Imaging and Diagnostic Conference, for the past four years.
Among the new Philips equipment, which delivers not only cutting edge technology but practical and patient-friendly features, are the Philips Panorama 1.0T Open MRI scanner, the Philips Brilliance 64-channel CT scanner, the Philips HeartStart Home Defibrillator and a number of patient care and efficiency enhancing diagnostic information management solutions.
“Philips Medical System has been the platinum sponsor for the Middle East Imaging and Diagnostic Conference for the past four year. Education of medical professionals is one important goal of Philips Medical Systems in the region and we are proud to sponsor such a prestigious conference,” said Ian Lauritzen, Philips Medical Systems Area Manager for Middle East & Africa.
At the exhibition, Philips representatives were able to meet customers from the government healthcare sector and private hospitals and clinics, as well as doctors, consumers and other healthcare professionals to listen to their equipment needs and share the company’s vision of healthcare that benefits society, institutions, professionals and patients alike.
“All Philips medical products reinforce the company’s new brand promise of Sense and Simplicity”, added Walter van Kuijen, Vice President Philips Medical Systems, General Manager MCR, “as well as address the common need in today’s complex technology-driven world for solutions that are elegant, straightforward and customer-friendly on the outside but smart and effective on the inside.”
The Panorama 1.0T Open MR scanner epitomizes this new promise. The Panorama 1.0T Open MR is the world’s first truly open high field MR system, which offers most open environment for patient comfort and advanced imaging performance.
The Philips 64-channel Brilliance CT scanner ensures a positive patient experience through a quick non-invasive procedure that takes a comprehensive picture of the state of a patient in seconds rather than the usual minutes. At the push of a button the doctor can quickly see just what he needs to see.
The Philips HeartStart Home Defibrillator can only be operated if properly applied. It’s a simple way to offer consumers the chance to give a heart-starting shock in those first vital minutes after cardiac arrest.
Philips presented its IT product portfolio, with IT solutions that address hospitals’ special needs in the Middle East. New product introductions for the Easy Access family were displayed at the booth, which allows doctors and technicians to manage diagnostic images and data in a simple and effective way, resulting in a faster and improved patient care.
The Philips stand also offered a look into a host of other groundbreaking medical products including the clinically proven Achieva 3.0T high field MRI scanner, the Philips HD11 Ultrasound System launched at this year’s Arab Health Exhibition, the Philips iU22 Intelligent Ultrasound System, the Philips iE33 Live 3D Echocardiology Ultrasound, the Philips HeartStart MRx Monitor/Defibrillator and the Philips Eleva Cardiovascular X-ray.
The Arab Health Exhibition and Congress is the largest healthcare event in the Middle East and one of the most important ones in the world, especially given the size of the region’s healthcare market, which is approximately US$ 74 billion annually.
