10 year lifetime verified for LG washing machines

LG Electronics, the global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, mobile communications and home appliances, has received notable recognition through a study conducted by the German VDE Lab, verifying that the Direct Drive Motor of LG’s washing machines endures a whopping ten year lifespan. 

The extensive study, which VDE carried out at LG’s Washing Machine Factory in Korea, showed that the Direct Drive Motor of washing machines manufactured by LG Electronics had zero defects during full, completely sealed 2,200 cycles, ensuring complete authenticity of the testing process which lasted from November 4^th, 2009 – February 2^nd, 2011. The verification inspected mechanical defects, electrical safety defects, vibration, noise and power consumption – all of which have stood the test, proving the remarkable 10 year lifetime of LG’s washing machines, and putting the breakthrough technology in a league of its own.

The verification testing was based on consumer-centric methods of international standards, as well as third party programs, to ensure objectivity of endurance test cycle sequence and measurement items among other particulars. It is also worth noting that the testing was carried out in reference to standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in terms of performance measurement and safety, and to standards of the EU Directive in terms of energy labelling.
