120 Arab students gather at 2nd Annual Intel Science Competition - Arab World

The 2nd Annual Intel Science Competition – Arab World gets underway today, with 120 Arab students battling out for $40,000 of prize money and six scholarships.
Held under the patronage of H.H. Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, H.E. Humaid Al Qatami, Minister of Education and Prof. Sami Mahmoud, Chancellor of University of Sharjah, the competition sees the finest projects by pre-college students from the UAE, Jordan, Saudi, Kuwait, Morocco, Tunisia, Oman, Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt and Qatar showcasing the best scientific research projects.
Organized by Intel Corporation for the second consecutive year, Samir Al Schamma, Regional General Manager for Intel, Middle East & North Africa, stated, “These students are highly talented individuals and the innovation on display is remarkable. We have projects that look at tackling large healthcare issues, through to being the next best search engine. I wish all the participants the best of luck tonight.”
