It was an early Diwali gift for Prabhakaran N. S. Nair, who won $1 million at Dubai Duty Free's latest raffle.

The 73-year-old Malaysian national won the prize money in Series no. 254 with ticket no. 1348.

"I'm very happy to hear such a fantastic news, and this is such a great Diwali present that I would never forget," Nair, only the second Malaysian to win the $1 million draw, said.

Kalapparambath Mohamed Ali Musthafa, the winner of the previous $1 million draw, was also flown in from India and given a ceremonial $1 million cheque. Musthafa, now retired, had worked in Dubai for 37 years, and held ticket no. 0338 of Series no. 253.

In a surprise draw conducted after millionaire winner was announced, Mohammed Shabeer was named the winner of BMW S 1000 RR in Series no. 316 with ticket no. 0582.

Shabeer, a 29-year old technical engineer in Dubai, had bought his first ever ticket from Dubai Duty Free website.

"I'm very excited and happy that I won, and I'd like to thank Dubai Duty Free for this wonderful opportunity", he said.
