Abu Dhabi University to launch International Conference on Mathematical Sciences & Applications
Abu Dhabi University’s College of Arts and Sciences is scheduled to launch the first “International Conference on Mathematical Sciences and Applications (ICMSA) tomorrow (Wednesday, December 26th ) in Radisson Blu Hotel and Park Inn on Abu Dhabi Yas Island. Hosting 125 world-renowned faculty members and researchers representing 35 international universities from 20 different countries, the 5-day conference aims to promote, encourage, and discuss the latest developments and researches in the field of Mathematical Science and its applications.
Dr. Radwan Al Jarrah, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences stressed the importance of the conference as it has attracted more than 125 researchers and professors from universities all around the world. “The ICMSA represents a great opportunity for participant to present their research findings in different fields of Mathematics and its applications. Mathematics is a broad-based science that branches out into other sciences, most of which will be discussed during the conference. Papers will be presented on algebra and its applications, probability and statistics, differential equations, financial mathematics, geometry, mathematical biology, mathematical physics, and calculus to name a few”, added Dr. Al Jarrah.
“Mathematics is the basic pillar around which we have built all of the scientific and technical progress we are witnessing today. It branches into other sciences and has many applications in our daily lives. The International Conference on Mathematical Sciences and Applications will enable participating researchers to share their knowledge and innovative research skills with the community, as well as communicate with each other to develop research partnerships that are essential to the study and treatment of the challenges that face society in this field”, said Dr. Al Jarrah.
On his part, Professor Haydar Akca, Professor of Applied Mathematics and a member of the conference organizing committee said: “Although broad-based, the conference will have a special emphasis on the applications of Mathematical Science and Applied Mathematics. We are expecting about 150 participants from more than 20 different countries including: India, Turkey, Jordan, USA, France, Portuguese, Algeria, South Africa, Australia, Nigeria, Iran, Egypt, Oman, Bulgaria, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Libya, England, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, China, Greek and many others”.
Dr. Fares Mohammed Howari, Chair of Applied Sciences and Mathematics at Abu Dhabi University and Head of Applied Sciences and Mathematics and a member of the conference organizing committee explained that the conference will host several research papers that may be of great interest to the general public, especially research relating to applications of mathematics in health and environmental sciences. “Many of the research papers being presented during the ICMSA highlight how Math and mathematical methods are applied to our daily life issues and how mathematics can be used to better understand and manage complex natural systems. The stature of Mathematical sciences in any community is directly related and derived from how advanced that community is, depending on its progress and complexity of its way of life. We rely on Mathematics on a daily basis to calculate quantities, amounts, times, distances, sizes, weight, and financial matters. It’s an important branch of science that is indispensable to any individual”, added Dr. Howari.

Abu Dhabi University
The dream began with the Charter of Abu Dhabi University in the year 2000, After three years of planning, the university opened its doors in September 2003, to an entering class of 1,000 students on its two campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Unlike other colleges and universities in the UAE, ADU undertook the measures necessary to ensure that all of the degree programs it would offer had secured accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in advance of any students enrolling in them.
ADU offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees based upon the American model of higher education.
