Artnumber23 & Andakulova Gallery, Dubai Opening

ArtNumber23 & Andakulova Gallery launched its newest Dubai exhibition last night to a packed audience, marking another milestone in the city’s rise as the cultural capital of the Middle East. Among the international artists featured, Australian artist Augustus Firestone drew significant attention with his Painted Sculpture Relief work — a contemporary hybrid of colour, sculpture, and French impressionist influence.

In the lead-up to the exhibition, industry insiders circulated rumours that Firestone’s current work could attract offers reaching USD $1,000,000, signalling the growing confidence of collectors in Dubai’s art market and the city’s evolution into a global arts powerhouse.

Firestone, who developed his Painted Sculpture Relief art movement between 2005–2010, has consistently pushed the boundary between painting and sculpture. His work on view in Dubai continues this investigation through vibrant colour fields, sculptural depth, and a distinctly contemporary reimagining of classical technique.

“Dubai is making bold moves culturally — you can feel it,” Firestone said. “The response tonight was strong. It’s clear collectors and curators here are looking for innovation, and they aren’t afraid to support ambitious work.”

The exhibition features a diverse mix of emerging and mid-career artists working across painting, sculpture, portraiture and mixed media. The opening-night turnout underscored Dubai’s accelerated growth as a must-watch destination for international art.

Exhibition Dates: 21–27 November 2025
