Aspetar’s Surgery Observer Programme Attracts Surgeons Worldwide
Aspetar, Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital, continues to strengthen its position as a global leader in orthopaedic and sports medicine through the success of its Surgery Department Observer Programme, which hosted 69 international observers over the past year.
The programme attracted surgeons and physicians from across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East, including participants from the United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, India, Brazil, the United States, Colombia, Thailand, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, GCC countries, Turkey, Lebanon, Germany, Greece, Oman, Egypt, the Philippines, Canada, Italy, France, Poland, Jordan, and North Macedonia. This strong international participation reflects the growing global demand for Aspetar’s specialised training opportunities.
Aspetar’s surgical training programmes are carefully designed to address the latest advancements in orthopaedic and sports medicine, offering evidence-based learning and hands-on surgical experience within a high-performance environment. They continue to attract strong international demand from surgeons seeking to advance their expertise, supported by the Aspetar Sports Surgery Training Centre (SSTC) in Doha—the first of its kind in the MENA region—featuring advanced surgical stations, arthroscopic technology, and live training capabilities.
In parallel, the Surgery Department delivered 35 fellowship-focused academic activities over the past year. These included nine internationally accredited Journal Club sessions, approved by Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health and conducted in a hybrid format, alongside 26 internal academic sessions aimed at supporting and advancing fellows’ training.
Aspetar surgeons also maintained a strong research output, contributing more than 70 peer-reviewed publications in leading international journals indexed in major scientific databases, further reinforcing Aspetar’s role in advancing global knowledge in sports medicine.
