Azizi Developments sponsors the 27th Dubai World Cup for the 6th consecutive year

Azizi Developments, a leading private developer in the UAE, has once again shown its commitment to supporting world-class events in the UAE by sponsoring the Group 1 – 1,200m Al Quoz Sprint turf race, a crucial part of the Dubai World Cup which has a total purse of US$30.5 million.

The Dubai World Cup is the most important race day in the world of equestrianism, setting a global stage for the best horses, jockeys, and trainers. The 1,200-metre grass dash is one of the tournament’s most exciting races, spanning the length of a straight chute in front of the Meydan grandstand.

Azizi Developments’ Founder and Chairman, Mr. Mirwais Azizi, presented the trophies to the race winners.

In his comments, Mr. Mirwais Azizi said: “We are thrilled to be sponsoring the Dubai World Cup for the sixth consecutive year. It has become an exciting, highly awaited annual event for all of us at Azizi Developments.”

The Al Quoz Sprint was first run in 2007 as part of the Dubai International Racing Carnival before becoming part of the Dubai World Cup in 2010 to coincide with the opening of the Meydan Racecourse. Purebred horses from South Africa, France, Hong Kong, Australia, and the UAE had claimed previous wins.
