The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) successfully launched its roadshow in the United Kingdom (UK), which was kicked off in Manchester on June 17th, and scheduled to continue onto London on June 18th with the last leg ending on the 19th of

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) successfully launched its roadshow in the United Kingdom (UK), which was kicked off in Manchester on June 17th, and scheduled to continue onto London on June 18th with the last leg ending on the 19th of June. The roadshow aims to strengthen relations with travel and tourism offices in the UK, and introduce the Kingdom of Bahrain as a leading tourist destination by exhibiting the Kingdom’s unique tourist offerings to support the development of the local tourism sector, which comes in line with BTEA’s strategy which focuses on four pillars, namely: Awareness, Attraction, Access and Accommodation.

The promotional delegation was headed by various BTEA officials and included representatives from the Kingdom’s national airline, Gulf Air, alongside a number of hotels and travel agencies. The visiting delegation had the opportunity to meet with representatives from travel agencies and tour operators in the UK, and held meetings in order to discuss the Kingdom’s distinctive tourism offerings in order to increase the number of tourist groups coming to Bahrain.

“The roadshow aimed to strengthen relations with the leading tourism companies in the UK, and promote the Kingdom of Bahrain as an ideal tourism destination for families and tourists of all ages by highlighting its distinctive elements. In addition, the roadshow provided an opportunity to promote the Kingdom’s new tourism projects and activities, in order to attract a number of leading international brands in the hospitality, retail, and leisure sectors,” revealed Mr. Yousef Mohamed Al Khan, Director of Marketing and Tourism Promotion at the BTEA.

“We are working closely with our representative office in the UK to increase the number of visitors to the Kingdom of Bahrain, to further establish the Kingdom’s position as a prominent destination on the global tourism map,” he added.

These roadshows come as part of BTEA’s strategy to promote the tourism brand under the slogan ‘Ours. Yours’, which aims to showcase the Kingdom of Bahrain as the ideal tourism destination to the regional and international markets, which contributes to the development of the tourism sector as a key contributor to national economic growth in line with the Economic Vision 2030.

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority was established in 2015 under the Royal Decree number (76) for the year 2015 issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain. Whereas the first clause of the Decree number (10) stated that an authority should be established under the supervision of the Council of Ministers

In 2015, BTEA started its operations under the Decree number (9) for the year 2015 to append the Tourism Affairs to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce based on the recommendation of HRH Prime Minister and under the law number (62) of the year 2016 to establish and regulate the Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority (BECA) and the Decree number (1) for the year 1985 to establish a Supreme Council for Tourism, and the law number (15) for the year 1986 to regulate the Tourism sector amended by a Law by Decree number (12) for the year 1994.
