ALBAWABA - Israeli army soldiers are walking out in the dozens from Sde Teiman military base in the Negev after a dispute with their commanders over military insignia.
Soldiers of the Sabar Battalion of the Givati Brigade walked out of the base in droves without leave or authorization after a dispute they had with their commanders over military symbols.
The dispute began when command staff started destroying and removing symbols displayed in the battalion’s dorms; when the soldiers opposed the move, commanders didn’t budge - leading to the soldiers walking out from the base en masse in protest.
"One of the commanders used a five-kilogram sledgehammer to destroy one of the symbols," according to one soldier serving in the unit.
