Burgan Bank Concludes its sponsorship of ‘SPARK Marathon 2016’

Burgan Bank is proud to have been a sponsor of ‘SPARK Marathon 2016’, which was held on Saturday January 16^th, 2016 at Marina Mall Crescent Area. The event was organized by Spark Athletic Centre, and came under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs. The marathon aimed at spreading health awareness across Kuwait as well as supporting charities and non-profit organizations through the Burgan Bank Marathon Village in Marina Crescent.

The event took place for 3 days and demonstrated great success and a promise to provide a healthy outlet for people to participate in and enjoy in Kuwait. Families and people from all ages participated in the marathon, which was divided into 4 categories: 5 km run, 10km run, 21 km run and 42 km run. Participants and visitors alike enjoyed a fun program full of entertaining activities for all ages. At the awards ceremony Burgan Bank presented the winners of the 42Km race with their awards. At the end of the event, all sponsors were honoured for their support to the community and to the Spark Marathon charity initiative.

During the awards ceremony, His Excellency Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, stated that SPARK Marathon was an ideal platform to raise sports awareness and encourage sport activities among the citizens of Kuwait.

Such community interactions further reinforces Burgan Bank’s leadership and social dedication to the wellbeing of the society. As part of its overall social responsibility framework, the bank has pledged to support initiatives that work on familiarizing the public with the benefits of maintaining a healthier lifestyle as well as engaging all segments of the society in an interactive manner.
