Canon Middle East wins Dubai Chamber’s prestigious CSR label award

Canon Middle East, a leader in imaging solutions, has been awarded the CSR Label by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry for its continuing efforts towards corporate social responsibility.

The coveted annual award was first launched in 2010 by the Dubai Chamber to give companies a clear framework to help them implement CSR and sustainability initiatives, promote them amongst staff, and then have their efforts recognized publicly. 

Canon Middle East was recognised for its on-going commitment to integrate CSR across all facets of its business. The award was given at a ceremony held at the Dubai Chamber head office recently.

H.E. Hisham Al Shirawi, 2^nd Vice Chairman, Dubai Chamber, who presented the CSR Label certificates to Canon Middle East stated that the Dubai Chamber CSR Label, which is the first of its kind programme in the Middle East, is a journey to learn, assess, monitor and improve individual CSR strategies and practices by businesses. It is a direct recognition and reward programme for the winners who operate in completely different industries, vary in size and scope, and have diverse business goals and objectives. However, they have all integrated CSR into their governance and strategy and have shown a remarkable performance, he said.

Receiving the award, Anurag Agrawal, Managing Director, Canon Middle East, said: “We are very honoured to receive this prestigious award. This philosophy is central to our belief that a sustainable business integrates the interests of society with consideration for the environment.”

The other recipients of the award include Abela & Co, Emrill Services LLC, HSBC Bank Middle East Limited, ABB, Intercoil, Emirates Gas and Mashreq Bank. 

Canon is included in Interbrands’s Best Global Green Brands 2011 ranking.
