Cravia ‘Kicks-Off’ another Successful Year

It’s that time of year again, Cravia – the parent company of Cinnabon, Seattle’s Best Coffee and Zaatar W Zeit (ZWZ) – recently celebrated the hard work of its ‘Dream Team’ in making the company the success it is today with its annual ‘Kick-Off’ event.
Harnessing the strengths of each individual, Cravia has created a world class team that will continue to help the company grow with their ambitious plans for 2012. Team building events like this are vital to Cravia’s community, keeping the culture alive and vibrant as they make ‘Raving Fans’ out of Cravia’s customers.
“A team is only as strong as its players and how well they play together as a team. This is not a one man show; each and every individual’s passion for Cravia, aided by employee empowerment, is what makes our company as success. They are Cravia’s ‘Dream Team’, helping us live the dream as we continue to dream bigger,” said Cravia CEO, Walid Hajj.
This year saw Cravia grew by 19.7% in total sales and 11.9% on the comparable front, adding 10 new Cinnabon locations, two new ZWZ locations and renovating 4 outlets. On the HR front, Cravia continues to retain key talent – even rewarding employers who have been with the company for over 10 years with special Rolex watches for their ‘valuable time’.
General Manager Louay Ghandour further explained, “Recent growth and expansion plans are made possible by the hard work and dedication of Cravia’s employees. Through their efforts, as they continue to interject passion in every endeavour, they have helped create a culture of success and unity that has propelled the company to the successful heights it has attained today. Let us continue to show the world just how passionate we are as we work hard to keep the momentum going.”
Ghandour went on to present CEO, Walid Hajj, with ‘The Messi of Cravia’ award for his ability to rise above challenges and to deliver time and time again along with an autographed shirt by none other than Lionel Messi himself; an honour that is well deserved.
Going beyond limitations and constraints, this year’s innovations also included the introduction of Cinnabon Cupcakes, to increase the seemingly ‘limited’ scope of Cinnabon’s range of products. The launch party in Dubai Mall was truly inspirational, with over 6,000 mini cupcakes and over 1,000 large cupcakes made, showing the world that anything else is just a cup fake.
For their hard work, commitment and execution, Walid personally awarded Marwan Kandeel, Senior Brand Manager; Ahmed Said, Purchasing and Warehouse Supervisor; and Sujith Sadanand, Accounting Manager, “Turning the Cupcake World Upside Down Award” for a job well done.
“This year’s theme was ‘Raving Fans’ and we need to continue building on the momentum we have generated. Our goal is to motivate everyone around us, starting from the management, our employees and finally our customers. Our promise to each other is to keep everyone beyond satisfied as they continue to ‘rave’ about Cravia,” concluded Hajj.
