Dalma Mall commemorates the Philippines’ 118th Independence Day in a spectacular community event

In the presence of The Ambassador of the Philippines in the UAE, H.E. Constancio R. Vingno Jr., Dalma Mall celebrated the 118th Independence Day of the Philippines, paying respect to a nation that is filled with creativity, passion and love of freedom.

Gathering more that 60,000 of the Filipino community, the 118th Independence Day celebrations showcased a spectacular show capturing the evolution of the Philippines’s customs, its history and events related to the fight for freedom, followed by a show on the Philippine’s flag evolution, live bands and dance shows by the Brilliant Talents’ kids and the Abu Dhabi Filipino Dance Club, along with exciting games and prizes.

In this occasion, Dr. Eldino Alberto V. Caballes, Chairman of the 118th PIDC Committee and Vice Chairman of Bayanihan Council 2016 said: “Through our community gathering at Dalma Mall, we have chosen to focus on the cultural heritage in order for Filipinos, who are staying away from home country, to refresh and understand our beginnings and why and how we became who we are today.”

The Independence Day celebration was organized under the umbrella of the Philippines Embassy in Abu Dhabi and in coordination with The Bayanihan Council and presented by various Filipino organizations and entities in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and overseas Filipinos from the western region, and students from different Philippine schools.
