du lends a helping hand: distributes 90,000 free Iftar meals

Even more people are benefitting from du’s complementary Mawaed Al Rahman (Iftar distribution points) this year. Thanks to additional donations, the number of nutritious Iftar meals being distributed has increased this Ramadan from 80,000 meals that du has contributed to   90,000.

The additional 10,000 meals have been funded by donations from du customers, credit collected through Ramadan social media initiatives’, Bonus on Incoming-activated mobile lines and from the telecommunications’ company’s internal collection campaign. These are being distributed to the needy  throughout Ramadan at the Mawaed Al Rahman locations next to Nad Al Qusais Masjid in Dubai, Al Fisht Masjid in Sharjah and Shaikh Khalifa Masjid in Abu Dhabi.

In addition to the monetary donations received, 55 of du’s customers and employees have volunteered to help distribute the meals – including du’s Chief Financial Officer, Mark Shuttleworth.
