Reflecting the values of the Holy Month of Ramadan, du is introducing a comprehensive set of initiatives that will add life to life across the nation, during a time of year devoted to giving, sharing and remembering those in need. The initiatives enable members of the UAE’s community to share special Ramadan moments.

“I would like to wish our customers, colleagues and friends across the Islamic world a blessed Holy Month of Ramadan,” said Hala Badri, Executive Vice President, Brand and Communications, du. “This year, we have introduced initiatives that are absolutely community-led and aim to provide our customers with a slew of platforms to come together and celebrate this season of giving. These initiatives are all about sharing common experiences and most, importantly, honoring the spirit of Ramadan.”

She continued, “We are pleased to strengthen our presence on the map of community events that celebrate the joy of the month of fasting, where we will collaborate for the third consecutive year with Al Ajr initiative, an initiative by His Highness Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority”.

Mawaed Al Rahman in Four Convenient Locations:

As part of its efforts to bring comfort to those less fortunate during Ramadan, du’s Mawaed Al Rahman initiative will once again enlist the help of volunteers to distribute meals in four convenient locations across the UAE. This year du has partnered with Think UP GCC, a UAE-based volunteer  group that will help to distribute Iftar meals in four locations: Hazza Bin Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi; The Grand Mosque of Satwa in Dubai; Salim Bin Ali Al Owais Square, Al Fisht Area in Sharjah,  and Bu Rusli Mosque in Al Iihad Street, next to Eppco in Ras Al Khaimah.

Each Mawaed Al Rahman location will have a queue dedicated to children and women, and, for the first time, du will hand out kid’s meals.

For the last 10 days of Ramadan, children visiting du’s Mawaed Al Rahman will receive Eid gifts, including back to school items, purchased from du employees’ donations.

Ramadan Cup Football Tournament:

In the spirit of sharing a unique experience during the Holy Month, du is once again launching its Ramadan Cup Football Tournament. The tournament will involve a number of participants across du’s various departments, including members of the company’s senior management, and aims to bring the company’s employees together by encouraging closer communication.
