Dubai Healthcare City organizes health day for Dubai Airport Staff to mark World Heart Day
Over 110 Dubai Airport employees went through a series of cardiovascular tests at a health workshop organized by Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC). The initiative coincided with the World Heart Day.
Aiming to raise community awareness on the risk factors leading to heart diseases, a medical team from DHCC’s Heart First Medical Center offered examinations on BMI measurement, cholesterol and blood sugar tests. Dr. Rajeshkumar Raipancholia, an Interventional Cardiologist, provided free consultation and clinical information on ways to lead healthy lifestyles and achieve dietary balance to prevent cardiovascular complications.
Heart disease is the world's leading cause of death. It claims 17.1 million lives a year, about 30 per cent of deaths worldwide, and accounts for 22 per cent of deaths in the UAE. The UAE also has a disproportionate number of heart patients aged 20 to 40. As part of its overarching objective to contribute to the well-being of the society, Dubai Healthcare City is committed to participating in initiatives that ensure the prevention of diseases at an early stage.
