Dubai Land Department and Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University agree to exchange knowledge and expertise
Dubai Land Department and Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation by developing a framework that aims to benefit the Emirati society. The agreement is focused on the development of research, academic programs, curriculum and scientific materials related to real estate through cooperation between HBMeU and Dubai Real Estate Institute, the academic arm of the Dubai Land Department, within the framework of the integrated operational action plans, approved by both parties. The MoU was signed by H.E. Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of the Dubai Land and Properties Department, and Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, HBMeU Chancellor, in the presence of executives and senior officials from both sides.
Under the partnership, both parties will use all available means and join forces to translate the government’s vision and strengthen Dubai's position as a leading regional business, investment, tourism and knowledge hub. The Land Department and HBMeU also agreed to exchange knowledge and expertise at all levels of mutual interest. They aim to strengthen their relations through holding regular meetings, opening effective communication channels and exchanging publications and specialized reports. These efforts will support the creation of a culture of innovation, leadership and excellence as the driving engine of sustainable development in the emirate.
“Being the first e-learning university to be launched in the Arab world, there is no doubt that HBMeU holds a leading position in e-education,” said H.E. Sultan Butti Bin Mejren. He stressed on the importance of this cooperation in establishing effective communication channels between HBMeU and the Land Department in order to achieve accurate, objective and transparent exchange of knowledge while maintaining high-quality customer service.
"We are confident that our partnership with the HBMeU will help us achieve our goals through building mutual business and scientific ties, which will lead to developing human resources in many areas that will contribute to the sustainable development of Dubai and the UAE,” His Excellency added.
Dr. Mansoor Al Awar was pleased to join forces with the Land Department, marking a culmination of efforts to strengthen cooperation between all government authorities and academic institutions. “This MoU complies with the directives of the university’s Board of Governors to build strong relationships with government authorities and private sector institutions in order to strengthen HBMeU’s position, as a center of excellence and leadership.” Dr. Al Awar strongly believes in the success of this new partnership and its contribution towards achieving common goals. He praised the Department’s role in providing a world-class real estate environment that helps develop the local community through creating real estate knowledge and maintaining the highest standards of transparency, excellence and quality in service delivery.
The strategic partnership reflects both parties’ endeavours to cooperate with government departments and educational institutions in Dubai and the UAE. It will be a gateway to formulate an appropriate framework for developing business, scientific and academic ties between the two parties, to develop human resources capabilities towards achieving excellence.
Dubai Land Department was established in January 1960 to provide a systematic method for registration of land and property and protect the rights of clients and ensure all legal aspects relating to the sale and purchase of land, which enabled the Department to organize the registration process, which aims primarily to protect all relevant parties. In order to organize and develop the real estate sector in the emirate Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) was officially established as a subsidiary of the Dubai Land Department in 2007 under Law No. (16).
