Emirates NBD enhances branch experience with Beacon Technology on Mobile Banking App

Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, today announced the integration of bluetooth enabled ‘Beacon Technology’ on its Mobile Banking App to enhance customers’ experience at bank branches. 

Customers visiting select branches will be notified of ongoing campaigns and promotions on their smartphones, ushering a new era of intuitive, interactive communication between the bank and its customer. In addition, Emirates NBD customers within proximity of partner restaurants or outlets will be notified of available deals and privileges on their Emirates NBD credit or debit card.

“In keeping with our commitment to be the first to offer our customers the most advanced retail banking solutions, we have leveraged digital innovation to create a superior branch experience,” said Suvo Sarkar, Senior Executive Vice President & Group Head – Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Emirates NBD. “Beacon Technology will enhance the way we communicate with customers and create a synergy between the physical and digital worlds.

Beacon Technology will assist the bank in gaining a better understanding on customers’ specific needs based on their movements. The bank has partnered with (partner merchants) and will inform customers on ongoing offers based on their location.

“This breakthrough smart technology paves the way for an enhanced, more interactive banking experience, in addition to benefitting our partner merchants,” continued Sarkar.

As a result, we have now set in place initiatives which set new benchmarks for the industry combining digital and physical to offer a truly distinct and seamless customer experience.”

As part of its holistic service integrating physical and digital banking channels, Emirates NBD branches feature more advisory areas and integration with technology. Branches include service ambassadors that can guide customers and help them with understanding how to use and benefit from online and mobile banking. The bank also offers free wi fi to all branch visitors.
