Emirates Palace, the landmark, luxury 5star hotel in Abu Dhabi, is planning to present an inspired line-up of local events, to celebrate the 40th UAE National Day 2011. This show-stopping calendar will highlight the rich diversity of the UAE and showcase Arabian culture and hospitality at its finest. 

Located on a pristine sandy beach spanning 1.3 km along the turquoise shores of Abu Dhabi, Emirates Palace is famous for its culturally-inspired design, with 394 luxury rooms and suites nestled within traditional domes, which span 85 hectares of lush landscaped gardens. 

From the 28th November to the 5th December 2011, an authentic-style Bedouin tent will be placed within the heart of the magnificent Emirates Palace grounds, as a traditional environment for guests and visitors alike to enjoy insight into the Emirati culture. 

By day, Emirates Palace will host eye-catching displays such as a 40-tier National Day Cake, a display of 40 different types of prime Emirati dates showing the richness and variety of the UAE culture on December 2nd. By night, as the sun sets, the sky above the Palace will come alive with phenomenal laser displays above the Palace.

The especially UAE flag stands up high at the Emirates Palace with its 40 meters height display, symbolizing the everlasting spirit of the union.

Alongside this, Emirates Palace will host the exclusive “Pearls: UAE’s Natural History” exhibition from 27th November to 8th December 2011. Working with the Pearl Revival Committee, this showcase of the culture, heritage and history of the pearl will unveil its physical complexities, myriad designs and alluring mystique. Don’t miss the Danat– the world’s largest bluster authenticated pearl. 

To enjoy a ‘taste’ of the Emirati cuisine on the National Day, 2nd of December, Emirates Palace will serve an extensive variety of local delicacies, devised and presented at the Mezlai Restaurant – the first 5star restaurant in the UAE.      

The UAE National Day celebrations provide the Emirati people with the opportunity to celebrate the memories of the 2nd December 1971 and to salute the nation’s rich heritage of 40 years of development and constant vision driving into a modern and progressive nation. Emirates Palace’s celebrations will form part of the national week programme of activity, promoting national pride and identity.
