Empower showcases district cooling in World Future Energy Summit today (18 January) in Abu Dhabi

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, is participating  in the World Future Energy Summit (WFES 2016), the leading annual global event committed to advancing future energy and clean technology, which will be held starting from today 18 January till 21 January at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Empower will highlight the benefits of district cooling for public and private sectors around the worldduring this important summit.

HE Ahmad Bin Shafar, Chief Executive Officer of Empower said Empower’s participation in WFES reflects its role in promoting knowledge, research and development of district cooling. “We believe that WFES provides a platform to exchange expertise with experts in renewable energy, and understand the latest techniques and practices. We strive to enhance our contribution to apply innovative solutions to build a sustainable future for all, and WFES is an ideal platform to achieve this goal.”

“In line with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, with regards to achieving sustainable development for the benefit of future generations, Empower is contributing on many elements of green economy and green development in its operations. We see that the cooling sector has an important step towards green economy, thanks to its success in saving energy consumption, particularly in the GCC, a region that consumes huge energy throughout the year for cooling services,” added Bin Shafar.

“The development at Empower is driven by the significant advancement of the UAE, which has become a global role model in sustainable development. The UAE is one of very few countries in the world that took the initiative to enhance conservation of natural resources,” explained Bin Shafar.

Speaking about the importance of WFES, Bin Shafar remarked: “WFES carries great importance, as it contributesto the fight against the global warming, and conservation of natural resources through diversification ofenergy sources and promoting clean energy. We are proud to see WFES being organised in the UAE,at a time when the entire world is facingdramatic climate change. We are also pleased to participate in the summit, being an ideal platform to communicate with our counterparts in district cooling, a field in which we lead globally.”

WFES gathers decision-makers from the political, commercial and financial sectors, to strengthen communication channels to innovate, create business opportunities and invest in the development of a sustainable energy sector across the world

The summit will attract government leaders, experts, decision makers, businessmen and investors to discuss the latest developments in clean and sustainable energy. WFES is the perfect opportunity for innovators and suppliers of energy to communicate discover and build new partnerships, an approach that Empower will undertake during this edition.

This year’s edition of WFES will see new participating countries as well as extensive presence of experts and international speakers.
