Latest version of the Epicor human capital management solution is now available

Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organizations, today announced general availability of its latest human capital management (HCM) solution, Epicor HCM version 5.7. Epicor HCM is a complete human resource information system (HRIS) that automates HR processes, enabling companies to track, manage and analyze employee data throughout the entire employee lifecycle. Now available, the newest release of Epicor HCM encompasses enhanced global and localization capabilities to manage the global workforce.

Previously unveiled at the Society for Human Resource Management Annual Conference and Exhibition in June (see release here), Epicor HCM version 5.7 expands the global framework and services to configure data fields that reflect the appropriate format based on a user’s location. In fact, according to a report from Forrester Research, Inc., “Customers are increasingly calling upon HRMS vendors to support a multinational workforce, and the global and localized capabilities also support vendor efforts to expand sales and distribution beyond their home markets.”

Ready for personalized and effective collaboration, the framework customizes the ability to show or even hide certain fields, depending on the country. Users will have the ability to translate data field labels, field content and reports in supported languages, English, French-Canadian and Spanish.

“Employee information is one of the most essential categories of business data,” according to Forrester Research. To easily access this data, Epicor HCM features “Deferred Authentication” which uses a web service to validate the users’ credentials to the customer's Active Directory server and securely store the domain user name and password, without the need to keep users constantly linked to the other side.

For more accessible tools, the “Service Draft-Web Services” feature allows customers to gain all the benefits of task logic for inserting or editing data, without having to run a task from the front end. When the data is uploaded to the system, the Application Programming Interface (API) validates information to help ensure data integrity when records are added to the database. Additionally, leveraging enhanced web services capabilities of Epicor Service Connect business integration platform enables Epicor HCM to easily access Epicor enterprise resource planning (ERP) payroll for check processing including pay rate, benefit deduction and direct deposit information to help streamline processes.
