EQUATE sponsors Firemen’s Day Festival 2016

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, EQUATE Petrochemical Company, Kuwait’s first international joint-venture in this industry, sponsored the 14th Firemen’s Day organized by the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD).

EQUATE Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Leader Mohammad Al-Shamary said, “This sponsorship represents an extension of the sustainable partnership between the Company and KFSD that has a vital contribution to maintaining the overall safety and security of the Kuwaiti society. This partnership has been embodied through several joint initiatives, such as sharing expertise, holding routine meetings and coordination in numerous fields. In addition, together we have launched safety campaigns to establish awareness about handling emergencies within and outside homes, the importance of fire extinguishers, the necessity of smoke detectors, safe use of gas cylinders, safety in desert camps, calling 112 in case of emergency and other critical matters. In addition, KFSD and EQUATE staff attended joint international training courses in advanced industrial firefighting and hazmat to develop capabilities and adopting global best practices to serve this country and all its population, citizens and expatriates alike.”

Al-Shamary expressed utmost appreciation and gratitude to the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs His Excellency Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah for holding this event under his patronage, His Excellency KFSD Director-General Lieutenant-General Yousuf Al-Ansari, as well as all KFSD staff and participants in this festival who truly reflect EQUATE’s “Partners in Success” slogan.

During the festival’s opening ceremony, EQUATE presented commemorative plaques to His Excellency the Minister and Lieutenant-General Al-Ansari.

At the event held during March 3-5, EQUATE showcased its state-of-the-art Fire Truck, which is the first of its kind Kuwait. In addition, EQUATE’s participation includes a booth that hosted a number of EH&S employees, such as members of EQUATE Emergency Response Team (ERT), to extend safety advice to the festival’s attendees.
