Football Icon Leo Messi Enjoys the Internet With Ooredoo
Football superstar Lionel Messi has teamed up with Ooredoo once again to launch the company’s new “Enjoy the Internet” campaign. As the brand’s global ambassador, Messi will be featured in a series of videos across social media and other online platforms, alongside influencers from across the MENA and Southeast Asia.
Ian Dench, Chief Executive Officer at Ooredoo said, “Ooredoo has teamed up with Lionel Messi as a brand ambassador because of what he represents; from excitement to determination, success, and teamwork. We want our customers to enjoy the internet and in this campaign Messi joins in too.”
Following previous promotions, Messi, the captain of FC Barcelona and Argentina’s national team, brings to life the ways users have fun socialising, shopping, and sharing digitally. Continuing with Ooredoo’s promise to enrich peoples’ digital lives, the campaign included appearances from social media influencers from across the region, including Oman’s own Mohammed Al-Arami.
To date, there have been over 1.8 million views for the video commercial across Ooredoo Oman social media channels, and a unique reach of 550k on Facebook and 400k on Instagram. The company also introduced a fun Snapchat lens with engaging campaign elements, much to the delight of fans, yielding over 260k impressions in Oman.
