Georgetown University Offers Virtual Alumni Panel on International Emergency Disaster Degree Program

For governments, organizations, and companies alike, the sudden COVID-19 outbreak has brought into sharp focus the need for crisis preparedness and response strategies. To provide working professionals the critical skills and industry knowledge needed to prepare for pandemics, as well as other natural and human-created disasters, Georgetown University is offering a Virtual Alumni Panel information session about their one-year International Executive Master's in Emergency & Disaster Management degree program on Monday, November 23, at 7:00 p.m.
At the panel, graduates of the program, which has been offered in Qatar since 2017, will be on hand to share their experience in the program and how it helped advance their careers. The information session will also provide insights about the program’s international engagements, curriculum, requirements, fees, and offer a question and answer session.
“Students in our program represent a diverse group of professionals across many industries, including first response, planning, public policy, global health, human and social services, military, humanitarian aid, and government,” said Georgetown Faculty Director Dr. Tim Frazier. “Graduates of this degree program use the strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities they gain to serve in important leadership roles in their fields.”
Offered by Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies in Washington, DC, the International Executive Master's in Emergency & Disaster Management program provides critical real-world experience and engagement opportunities with leading experts in the field. “The timing of this degree program couldn’t be more relevant, as Qatar gears up for one of the most important sporting events in the world, an event that will impact a wide range of sectors across the country,” he added.
The information session is open to the public and reservations are not required. Find out more at http://scs.georgetown.edu/panel
