Gulf Bank visits Bayt Abdullah Hospice

Gulf Bank visited Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice, which has been fitted out with advanced state-of-the-art medical equipment to receive and treat children suffering from cancer.
Visiting the hospice were Mr. Fawzy Al-Thunayan, General Manager-Board Affairs at Gulf Bank, and a team from the Bank who presented a contribution from Gulf Bank to the Kuwait Association for the Care of Children in Hospitals (KACCH). This participation falls under Gulf Bank’s annual contribution to KACCH to ensure excellent medical care and accommodation for children staying at the hospice.
Gulf Bank’s visit helped keep the Bank updated on the progress of the project and the preparations undertaken to receive children. The Bank has been involved throughout all the phases of the project starting from the preliminary layouts. Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, former Minister of Health and Mrs. Margaret Al-Sayer, Founder and Director of KACCH, shared the latest developments of Bayt Abdullah with Gulf Bank’s team while providing the team with an overview of the recent progress.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Al-Thunayan said: “I am very proud to see the most advanced Hospice of its kind in the world being set up in Kuwait. Bayt Abdullah is a fully-integrated medical care facility that we can be proud of, and which will help save the lives of many.
The progress since its inception is tremendous. Walking through the corridors of Bayt Abdullah and viewing the fully-equipped rooms and the furnished chalets for patients’ families makes me very delighted that the promise of Bayt Abdullah has become a reality. I am sure this exemplary charitable model is one to follow in the future”.
Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer said: “Bayt Abdullah is the culmination of numerous contributions over the past years by several private sector entities and individuals, reflecting their belief in CSR and great achievements through concerted efforts, for such a free of charge treatment providing edifice. I am proud to state that preparations are being made to receive children and their families, and not only outpatients.”
Towards the end of the visit, Mr. Al-Thunayan presented Gulf Bank’s donation to Dr. Al-Sayer and Mrs. Al-Sayer, who expressed their thanks and appreciation for the pivotal role Gulf Bank has made in caring for hospitalized children. Mr. Al-Thunayan commended the enormous efforts exerted by KACCH members to create a proper environment for children and ensure suitable accommodation for them at the hospice.
