The prestigious awards recognize outstanding leaders and quality professionals in the Arab world and serve as a platform to encourage different organizations in the region to achieve growth and development through quality and excellence. The winners of the 2013 edition of the Awards will be announced during Virtual Executive Club annual event on February 5, 2013 in Dubai.
The two awards bear the names of two global leaders in the fields of quality management and leadership. Both awards complement the continuing thrust of HBMeU to promote the sustainable growth of the society through scientific and academic excellence, in line with the vision and directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of the University.
Dr. Ibrahim Mahmood Bin Abdelrahman, Vice Chancellor, HBMeU, said: “As the Arab world continues to move forward in its pursuit of socioeconomic growth and development, it is critically important to develop leaders and professionals who are driven by excellence and a commitment to deliver positive changes in the society. The Feigenbaum Leadership Excellence Award and the Kano Medal: Excellent Catalyst honour such outstanding personalities. Through this initiative, we have seen truly amazing leaders and quality professionals who are not only successful in their respective domains, but also serve as role models and an inspiration to their peers in the rest of the Arab world. HBMeU is fully committed to support these awards as they complement our pursuit of lifelong learning and scientific and academic excellence, which we believe are among the strong foundations of any successful society.”
The Feigenbaum Leadership Excellence Award is open to men and women throughout the Arab world from small or large organizations in the public and private sectors. Applicants must show mature and effective professional skills, leadership ability, and vision. Not more than three applications from the same organization can be submitted for a given year.
Those nominated for the Kano Medal must reside in the Arab world or have made a major contribution that affected one of the Arab countries. Candidates should be nominated by their current employer organizations. The award is open to men and women from the public and the private sectors.
The two awards are being organized by the VEC of the e-TQM Institute at HBMeU. The mission of e-TQM Institute is to guide and support organizations and professionals in the public and private sectors across the Arab World with implementing quality management and e-learning through specialized consultancy services, capacity building programs, and cutting-edge knowledge transfer products.
