HBMSU wins Zad El Elm Award in recognition of role in enabling new generation to follow footsteps of Sheikh Zayed

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) has won the ‘Zad El Elm Award’ at the first edition of the ‘Zad Zayed International Award,’ an initiative launched by the Rashid Centre for the Disabled to mark the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, during a special gala held at Grand Hyatt Dubai. The award aims to uphold the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who laid solid and excellent foundations in the field of charitable and humanitarian work in the UAE. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, received the award for the university’s vital role in enriching the knowledge, implementing positive practices, and imbibing noble values among young generations, enabling them to follow the generous approach of the founding father and establish the UAE’s leadership in the international arena.
Dr. Mansoor Al Awar said: “The launch of the ‘Zad Zayed International Award’ is a manifestation of the efforts aimed at cultivating the noble principles and moral values laid down by our father the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to undertake charitable and voluntary work in the service of humanity. The UAE’s steady pace in following the footsteps of its founding father and strengthening its commitment to humanitarianism made it one of the world’s largest donor countries for official development assistance in 2014. We remain committed to supporting efforts towards continued achievements in philanthropic work led by the UAE under the wise leadership of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.”
“The Zad El Elm Award is of great significance for us as it marks Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which commemorates the contributions of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in cultivating the values of giving, solidarity and humanitarian compassion. This approach has been instrumental in establishing the UAE as one of the world’s leading countries in extending a generous helping hand in humanitarian action for needy people worldwide. The award gives us great encouragement to pursue excellence in building academically- and socially-qualified generations, enabling them to follow the benevolent approach that promotes the UAE’s leadership in philanthropy.”
