Hilton Hurghada Resort recently launched a community initiative entitled “Helwa ya Balady” as part of its Blue Energy team member programme of events, a global service campaign by Hilton Worldwide.

22 of the resort’s team members have been sweeping, brushing and painting in an effort to keep the streets of Hurghada clean and tidy. The “Helwa ya Balady” members volunteered their time to re-paint main streets, walls, squares, government buildings and one police station, demonstrating their commitment to the community and the country’s Red Sea tourism industry.

Christian Muhr, Hilton Worldwide vice president of operations, Egypt and Levant, said “As a leading hospitality provider in Egypt, we are firmly committed to the communities in which we serve and this is a great example of how our team members support their local areas with meaningful efforts and service.  Through our help, we hope to show the world that Egypt’s resort towns are as beautiful as ever". Hilton Hurghada Resort was the winner of the Hilton Worldwide Blue Energy Award for Q2 2012.
