Hussain Al Qemzi, Noor Bank wins Prestigious Industry Awards at 7th World Islamic Retail Banking Conference

Hussain Al Qemzi, CEO, Noor Bank, has received two industry awards at the ‘Islamic Retail Banking Awards 2015’, as a part of this year’s 7^th World Islamic Retail Banking Conference (WIRBC) held in Dubai.

Noor Bank’s CEO received the prestigious ‘Islamic Banking Leadership Award’ for his professional stewardship of the bank over the past year, as well as the ‘Critics’ Choice Best Islamic Bank in the UAE Award’ for Noor Bank’s outstanding performance.

Speaking at the award’s event hosted by UK-based Cambridge Analytica, Hussain Al Qemzi said, “I am honoured to receive these two awards that are a validation from the industry of the great work we do at Noor Bank.”

He added, “We are committed to offering the best Shari’a compliant services to our Muslim and non-Muslim customers who are increasingly realising the various benefits of banking with us. As an Islamic bank, it is our responsibility to use our capabilities for the improvement and overall well-being of our communities through shaping a stable Islamic economy as envisioned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.”

The awards were decided following the collaboration of the ‘Critics’ Choice Committee’ at Cambridge Analytica chaired by Professor Humayon Dar, and the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University to conduct an efficiency analysis of various banks in the region.

Experts concluded that Noor Bank, under the direction of Hussain Al Qemzi, emerged as a clear leader. The awards further acknowledged the bank’s recent rebranding efforts, as well as its commendable performance in the country’s banking sector. Cambridge Analytica was originally set up in Cambridge (UK) to benefit from the proximity and academic research produced at the University of Cambridge.

The World Islamic Retail Banking Conference is regarded as one of the most important events in the retail banking industry within the UAE.
