Oracle and International Data Corporation (IDC) are to jointly host a Banking Executive Roundtable next week at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai. Running under the theme 'Enabling Digital Transformation in an Age of Disruption', this pioneering half-day event will begin at 8.30am on January 22 and close with a dedicated lunch and networking session for the senior banking executives in attendance.

As the realities of digital transformation continue to disrupt the region's banking sector, banks are having to transform their operations at an accelerated rate. At the same time, they are coming under mounting regulatory pressure and demands to comply with data protection legislation. All of this is happening at a time when customers are more engaged and informed than ever before, demanding simplicity and security as they look to consume an array of financial services online and via their mobile devices.

It is with these challenges in mind that Oracle and IDC will host this exclusive roundtable event. With senior executives drawn from a broad range of departments across the banking industry, the event will combine thought-provoking presentations and interactive discussions on key issues such as:

  • Modernizing Your Processes to Drive Greater Innovation & Agility
  • Managing Your Data Lifecycle to Ensure Security & Compliance
  • Transforming Your Platforms to Enable Operational Excellence
  • Leveraging Insights to Predict the Future with Precision

"Providing traditional services is no longer enough to succeed in today's hyper-competitive banking environment," says Ranjit Rajan, IDC's associate vice president for research in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa. "Customers have never had a wider choice of services and channels and are constantly being tempted to use new, digital options that promise secure, speedy, compliant, and cost-effective banking. In this scenario, banks must look to establish a comprehensive platform for enabling organization-wide innovation. Only then can they offer a truly unique customer experience capable of delivering a truly sustainable competitive advantage."

A lineup of respected industry thought leaders will be on hand during the event to build on these ideas. These include Ranjit Rajan, IDC's associate vice president for research in the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa; Akhil Arora, principal solution consultant for analytics in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at Oracle Financial Services Global Business Unit; Arashdeep Sandhu, master principal sales consultant for EMEA at Oracle Financial Services; and Nil Bagdan, Oracle's regional senior sales director for the Gulf and Levant region.
