Intel Core i5 laptops and ultrabooks sell best at Gitex Shopper 2011 says Jacky's Electronics

Ultrabooks and Intel Core i5 laptops across all brands are among the blockbuster products at Jacky’s Electronics, the UAE's leading multi-brand consumer electronics retailer, during the first three days of Gitex Shopper 2011. 

As earlier projected  by Ashish Panjabi, Chief Operating Officer, Jacky's Electronics, ultrabooks, as a new product segment launched at the show, have received a huge interest from the exhibition's shoppers. “The ultrabooks have been selling like hotcakes from the first time we displayed the products on the second day of Gitex Shopper. Currently, our stocks are nearly sold out, which only shows that this new segment will continue to do well in the future,” he said. 

“Sales of laptops, particularly the range of Intel core i5 models is also continuously increasing since the opening of Gitex Shopper. Laptops overall have been at lowest price points we’ve ever seen them with an entry laptop now selling at Dhs. 1,699 in several brands.  We have also seen BlackBerry Bold 9900 being sold out in the first days of the event.  The fact that we’re finding certain products selling out early on during the event is a testament to the attraction of the event, the promotions that retailers such as us have been doing and the true savings that have been delivered to consumers in terms of prices or bundle offers,” Panjabi added. 

Meanwhile, Jacky’s sales for DSLR category in the first four days of Gitex Shopper has already exceeded last year’s total sales for the same category, while high-end LED TVs above 40-inch segment were sold in good numbers as well.  

“Among the products we've bundled are 75-300mm & 50mm lenses, tripod, BlackBerry 8250, 500 GB hard drives, LCD TVs and 16 GB SD cards on certain models of DSLR cameras during the show. For LED TVs, the bundled products can include free 22-inch LCD TVs or DVD players among others depending on the model,” Panjabi said. 

The company expects to see better sales toward the end of Gitex Shopper at the Airport Expo and also experience increased in footfall across all participating retail outlets. Gitex Shopper runs until 15^th October 2011.
