Jafza celebrates Workers Day

Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), the flagship free zone entity of Dubai, organised a fun-filled Workers Day to celebrate workers’ huge contribution in building a healthy and prosperous society and a thriving community.

More than 50,000 workers are living in seven high-class multistoried staff accommodations in Jafza. The event took place in massive football ground in Jafza South, next to the staff residential complex.

Through this event Jafza sought to raise awareness among workers about the significance of healthy food, balanced lifestyle for their well-being and also provide them a platform to show their talent.

Several senior Jafza officials joined the well-attended event.

The 4-hour (from 5.00 pm – 10 pm) event included Talent Show, a platform for Jafza-based workers to show their talent; several game outlets where they could display their skills and an open-air theatre where they watched a Bollywood movie. Jafza also organised a medical-camp in collaboration with Cedars-Jebel Ali International Hospital at the event to provide workers basic health check and also educate them on the healthy food and a balanced lifestyle that has a room for physical exercises and also leisure activities.

Fatma Hussain Nasser, Manager - Corporate Social Responsibility, Jafza, commenting on the Workers Day event said:

“We, at Jafza, aim to create a healthy and inspiring work environment in the Free Zone which gives workers a sense of belonging and helps them to give their best in whichever field they are in. Through such events we thank them for their remarkable contribution in the development of the country and the remarkable success of Jafza all across. 

The activities at the event were organised with the support of several Jafza-based companies including Procter & Gamble, Nestle, Hunter Foods and Cedars – Jebel Ali International Hospital. 

The participating workers community expressed their thanks to Jafza management for their caring attitude and their commitment for the workers’ welfare.
