Khalifa University to Host 48th UAE National Day Celebrations on 26 November

Khalifa University of Science and Technology, a research university dedicated to the advancement of learning through the discovery and application of knowledge, today announced it will mark the 48th UAE National Day with several activities including student-led events on 26 November at its Main Campus and Sas Al Nakhl Campus.
The Khalifa University community will host its own activities led by students of various clubs. The activities will reflect the ‘Year of Tolerance’ which aims to raise the UAE’s status as a global frontrunner for acceptance and coexistence.
Other activities will include Zayed Legacy Show and a short film titled ‘Zayed Tolerance Pledge’ before the start of the Main Show by the ‘Theater and Emirati Club’.
In his UAE National Day message, Dr Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, Executive Vice-President, Khalifa University of Science and Technology, said: “We are proud to host the student-led events to on the occasion of the 48th UAE National Day celebrations, demonstrating our commitment to the path of tolerance shown by the UAE Founding Father Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the current leadership. We believe the events at our campuses will not only illustrate the students’ extent of involvement in remaining part of the UAE’s heritage and success, but also in upholding the values directed by the leaders to ensure future progress.”
Celebrations at the SAN Campus will commence at 10.00am, while activities at the Main Campus will open at 4.00pm. Student-sponsored stalls will include the UAE-Korean Corner, the Year of Tolerance booth, the ‘National Memories Museum’ and a special booth dedicated to ‘Evolution of UAE Medicine’.
The newly-elected Khalifa University Student Council is taking part in the celebrations by organizing a photography competition titled ‘UAE Through The Eye of the Lens’. The competition will display eight to 10 professional photos taken by Khalifa University students under the theme ‘Landmarks of the UAE’. On the day of the event, a panel of judges will be voting for first, second and third-place winners, who will walk away with attractive prizes.
The UAE-Korean Corner will host a UAE Majlis, a Korean Majlis, an Emirati-Korean Dukkan, an Engineering Challenge, Kids’ Area and a photo-booth to capture those special moments.
Reflecting the ‘Year of Tolerance’ theme, this booth will highlight how the UAE remains a global capital for tolerance since its establishment and a bridge of communication among the people of the world and their various cultures, in an environment of openness and respect that rejects extremism and promotes coexistence. The Khalifa University Student Council will also oversee the booth where international students will be highlighting the UAE’s contribution to tolerance, coexistence and openness to different cultures.
The campus activities to mark the UAE’s 48th National Day celebrations reflect the depth of commitment, reverence and dedication of Khalifa University students towards the country and its wise leadership. These activities also renew the students’ pledge of loyalty as the promising leaders of the UAE’s future, responsible for raising the profile and status of the country globally.
