A new batch of Bahraini staff recently obtained professional certifications in audit and accounting, with support from KPMG in Bahrain’s Jassim Fakhro Fund. This milestone showcases the progress of the firm’s flagship personal development initiative, designed to support the professional growth of young Bahraini talent.

The Jassim Fakhro Fund was established in 2001 to honor Jassim Fakhro, the co-founder of KPMG in Bahrain, and to support the professional development of talented young Bahrainis. It provides local staff with access to financial support, along with time and mentoring from more experience colleagues to help them pursue and complete any professional qualification of their choice.

To date, 99 Bahraini employees have completed professional qualifications, with financial and mentoring support at a total cost of USD1.130 million (BD 426,000), covered entirely by KPMG in Bahrain.

Ahmed Abdulla, Associate at KPMG in Bahrain and a Jassim Fakhro Fund beneficiary, shared his views on the fund program and said “It is an honor for me to start my career working with KPMG in Bahrain. I have always believed that a professional certificate provides a pathway to explore opportunities in local and global markets, develop expertise and accelerate career growth. The financial and mentoring support I received from the firm enabled me to obtain the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification and make necessary steps towards achieving my career aspirations.”

“The firm cares about our education and development. The professional culture and the support my colleagues received through Jassim Fakhro Fund program encouraged me to obtain a professional qualification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. I am proud to be part of an organization that contributes in developing the local business community by supporting the professional growth of its local workforce.” Rabab Ali, Senior Executive and Jassim Fakhro Fund beneficiary also added.

KPMG in Bahrain is a member firm of KPMG international. The firm was established in 1968 as the first national accounting and auditing firm, and it has grown to be one of the largest professional services firms in the country.
