Magical moments for the festive season at Mall of the Emirates

Mall of the Emirates will be creating memorable moments for the entire family this festive season with a spectacular holiday display and events to celebrate this special time of the year. The centerpiece attraction will be Mall of the Emirates’ giant decorated festive tree, one of the largest in the UAE and a yearly spectacle photographed by residents and visitors from all over the world. With special appearances by Santa Claus, and exclusive performances of The Nutcracker – the holidays will be filled with festive fun at Mall of the Emirates. 

Standing proudly at 12m tall, Mall of the Emirates’ giant festive tree will be the shining star in the Central Galleria starting December 18th. Adorned with over 450 glittering lights and elegant decor, the festive tree is set within a beautiful winter display complete with snow-frosted trees and animated polar bear and penguins. Photographed by tens of thousands every year, the giant festive tree is a Mall of the Emirates icon for the holiday season, and creates a magical atmosphere for mall visitors. 

“The holiday season is about nostalgia and memorable experiences with family and friends,” said Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, Asset Director for Mall of the Emirates. “This year, we’re hoping to create magical moments through beautiful displays, interactive events for children and visual performances for all our visitors, leaving them with lasting memories. We hope to see everyone at Mall of the Emirates to soak in the festive cheer and celebrate the holidays with us.” 

Santa Claus is coming to town and will be finding out who’s ‘naughty or nice’ by making a special appearance in the wintery comforts of Ski Dubai. Children can share their wish lists with Santa in person from December 18-24 between 5:00pm-10:00pm daily. Additionally, Ski Dubai’s own festive mascots will be present from December 23 and 24 between 2:00pm-7:00pm lending Santa a hand in entertaining the kids. 

For a taste of the arts, the Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre (DUCTAC) will be showcasing Tchaikovsky’s famous classical ballet The Nutcracker featuring the highly acclaimed Vienna Festival Ballet. On show for three days only from December 15-17, this will be a rare opportunity to watch one of the most cherished holiday performances, with multiple shows daily at DUCTAC’s Centrepoint Theatre. 

Shoppers looking for the perfect gift, will be spoiled for choice as many of the mall’s retailers will be offering special festive promotions, gift sets and seasonal hampers, making gift-buying more convenient with a range of ideas under a single roof. Mall of the Emirates will also be spreading the holiday spirit to the online community, with the  ‘Wish it & Win it’ campaign on Facebook (www.facebook.com/MallOfTheEmirates) which invites all fans to share their wishes – for the chance to make one of them come true. Fans will also have the chance to win a night’s stay in one of the Kempinski, Mall of the Emirates Hotel’s Ski Chalets or a L’Occitane gift hamper.
