Majid Al Futtaim Properties ‘overwhelmed’ with community support for ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ charity drive; total of over 89,800 items to be donated to those in need

Majid Al Futtaim Properties, together with the generous support of the local community across the United Arab Emirates, has made a meaningful difference this Ramadan with an overwhelming, and most successful, number of donations collected over the last month. Wrapping up its fifth year, Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ charity initiative was jointly supported across its five UAE malls: Mall of the Emirates, Mirdif City Centre, Deira City Centre, Sharjah City Centre and Ajman City Centre, and encouraged shoppers and retailers to donate everyday items such as clothing, eye glasses, mobile phones and books.

The response has exceeded expectations. In total, there were 89,800 items collected including  25,600 bags of clothing, 48,350 books, 1,175 eye glasses, 170 phones and 14,500 other essential items such as food and school supplies that were donated to the Red Crescent UAE to support local and underprivileged communities.

A key initiative introduced by Majid Al Futtaim Properties, the annual ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ charity campaign has been a significant contributor and supporter of Red Crescent’s humanitarian efforts across the UAE and wider region. This year has witnessed the most successful response to-date, with the highest number of collections received across the five shopping malls.
