The Private Banking arm of Mashreq, one of the UAE’s leading financial institutions, has underlined its support to the Middle East’s thriving and growing art scene by continuing to be the Exclusive Partner of Art Dubai Modern 2015. This will be the second year that Mashreq has been associated with the leading international art fair having been the inaugural sponsor of Art Dubai Modern last year.

The Private Banking arm of Mashreq continues its collaboration because of a growing synergy with the region’s modern art scene and growing interest and endorsement from its private banking clients.

Ayman Abuhabsa, Head of Private Banking at Mashreq, said: “Mashreq Private Banking feels a strong sense of synergy with Art Dubai Modern. Over the last few centuries, the Middle East has continually been recognized as being at the forefront of creativity and the contributions made in the fields of architecture, design, culture and the arts continue to be a reference point today. We have worked with our partners at Art Dubai to try to capture that richness and formulate a programme that shares the Fair’s identity while also reflecting the Bank’s values and our clients’ cultural, social and intellectual interests. The genes of greatness are still very much here and with the right nurturing and investment from businesses we are witnessing a re-birth of breathtaking expressions that stimulate both the eye and the mind.”

Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Art Dubai offers the opportunity to engage with the work of more than 500 artists from the UAE, the region and the world across three gallery programmes: Contemporary, Modern, and Marker.

Ayman Abuhabsa continued, “Our continuing partnership with the fair extends our engagement with the regional modern art scene. We see this as continuation of the way we do business and an opportunity to support culture and the arts in the region in a structured and meaningful way. As importantly, we also believe that this adds a further dimension to our engagement with our clients whose interests sit at the center of everything we do. We also hope that this step will further stimulate broader and deeper participation from other corporates to continue to support Culture and the Arts.”

Launched last year, Art Dubai Modern 2015 features artists who have proved influential in the twentieth century, particularly through the vibrant modern period of the 1940s to 1980s. Each gallery presents a solo or two-person show, with work by masters from Africa, the Middle East and South Asia.
