Mashreq Ramadan charity drive benefits 10,000 workers

Mashreq’s Ramadan charity initiative, which is aimed towards the blue collar community in the UAE has benefitted 10,000 workers. The “Smile On The Face Care Kit Box” was conducted in partnership with Tamquest Entertainment, and saw bank employees hand out the iftar meals and personal care items every Friday during Ramadan to 3,000 laborers across Dubai’s labor camps. The Bank also marked ‘UAE Humanitarian Day’ which falls on 19th of Ramadan.

Volunteering has always been an integral part of Mashreq’s community activities and wider CSR strategy. With Mashreq’s staff members lending a hand this Ramadan, more and more laborers are expected to benefit from this philanthropic undertaking in as little as 4 weeks.

Commenting on the campaign, Aladdin Al Deesi, Head of Distribution at Mashreq said: “We greatly value our local communities, and always encourage our staff to get involved and give back. Initiatives like this one allow us to engage with those less fortunate, and inspire our employees to engage with the wider community.”

Mashreq’s Ramadan initiative consisted of meals and personal care kits. The initiative reflects the volunteering spirit of Bank employees and ultimately encourages employee engagement and positive impact towards the community.
