MD&CEO receives Chinese Consul General of Economy and Trade to Dubai

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), received HE Jin Lay, Consul General of Economy and Trade for the Republic of China in Dubai, to welcome him on his new position. Ahmed Abdullah, Senior Manager of External Communications at DEWA, also attended the meeting. The visit is part of a series of diplomatic and consulate visits to DEWA to discuss subjects of mutual interest.

Al Tayer welcomed the new consul, wishing him success in his new diplomatic mission and outlined DEWA’s prior work, and the ongoing development of services, reflecting DEWA’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Chinese energy companies, to broaden horizons and find mutually beneficial relationships.

The Chinese Consul commended the comprehensive development of the Emirate, and expressed his country’s interest in investing in Dubai’s renewable energy sector and further cooperation with DEWA.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was formed on 1 January, 1992, by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take over and merge the Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department that had been operating independently for several years until then.
