NETGEAR releases new range of LTE products at GITEX 2011

NETGEAR, a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking and storage products, has announced the launching of the MBRN3000 and MBR1310, which is part of NETGEAR’s new line of Long Term Evolution (LTE) products, particularly targeting the Middle East region’s top Internet Service Providers (ISPs). The launch was made today at this year’s edition of GITEX Technology Week, one of the largest and most important ICT events around the globe, which is being held from October 9, 2011 to October 13, 2011 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC). The release of the new line is part of the company’s ‘Smart IT versus Big IT’ philosophy, primarily focusing on a more economical approach to offering products with key IT capabilities and reliability at lowered and more affordable prices. The NETGEAR stand will be located at ZL-C1, Zabeel Hall, DICEC.
The MBRN3000 is a 3G+ Mobile Broadband Wireless-N Router that can help create WiFi hotspots and comes with free parental controls and a usage meter to help control data costs. The new unit is compatible with all major DSL ISPs and 3G+ USB modems. It can be used by companies which operate in remote locations such as construction companies and others. Furthermore, like all NETGEAR products, the new router boasts a strong signal that can penetrate barriers. Users are assured of a secure connection via stateful packet inspection (SPI), virtual private network (VPN) pass through, and denial-of-service (DoS) protection. The MBRN3000 can easily be set up through NETGEAR's Push 'N' Connect, which utilizes Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) and provides a secured wireless Internet connection at the push of a button.
The MBR1310 is a wireless-n router that is capable of sharing a DC-HSPA mobile broadband connection, in addition to a regular wired cable or DSL internet connection. The device has a built in SIM card slot that allows the user to share the internet from any SIM card that has an associated data plan that uses HSPA. There are four 100 Mbps Ethernet ports as well as a 10/100 Dual WAN to share the wired internet connection. This allows for smooth auto-distribution and can switch back and forth between two connections. In order to get high mobile broadband signal, there is a built in RF port to plug in an optional external antenna. Since it can share off a SIM card, the MBR1310 can easily create a wireless network with shared internet access through any power outlet.
“During the previous years, internet users could not enjoy high speed internet connectivity with DSL or fiber. The growing number of Internet users in the Middle East region have now created a strong demand for high speed internet connectivity that is seamless and can also handle multimedia functions and even internet gaming,” said Ahmad Zeidan, Channel Sales Manager, NETGEAR Middle East. “We now see the reality of faster internet speeds with the advent of LTE technology. In line with this, we are launching the MBRN3000 and MBR1310 and promoting the products across Middle East ISPs. These new devices will allow users quicker connectivity and the confidence of working on a secure network. This engaging new line of LTE routers will put massive bandwidth mobility service between end user hands and NETGEAR gadgets.”
The company also launched at GITEX 2011 the WNDR4500, RN12T0620 and the FVS318N, which are part of the latest line of dual band wireless routers, delivering better wireless coverage and faster download features. The WNDR4500 is a N900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router that promises to deliver the ultimate in WiFi performance and range. The router offers users a fast, reliable and secure internet connection and creates a powerful home network for key applications like streaming 3DHD video and multi-player gaming. The RN12T0620 is a 12TB Network Storage system that comes with optional 10GBE support. The unit is the perfect complement for SME's and SOHO's with its reliable, high performance network storage for business critical applications. Meanwhile, the FVS318N is a ProSafe Wireless-N 8-Port Gigabit VPN Firewall that securely connects to a maximum of five remote offices or allows travelling users to connect to the office network via VPN.
“Participating at this year’s edition of GITEX has allowed us to leverage our broad portfolio of products and solutions across various industry verticals and home user segments. Aside from promoting our products and meeting new clients, we are also looking to increase awareness on our 'Smart IT versus Big IT' initiative, ably positioning our integrated suite of solutions as world class and highly reliable offerings yet priced at very affordable rates,” concluded Zeidan.
