Ooredoo Prepares to Host Public Sector Football Tournament
Reflecting its commitment to strengthening its ties with the public sector, Ooredoo unveiled plans to host a fun and competitive six-a-side indoor football competition, exclusively open to government institutions. A tournament draw was conducted at the Ooredoo head office, under the auspices of Fahad Al Raisi, Director General of Sports Development at the Ministry of Sports Affairs, with the eight participating teams drawn into groups to battle it out for first place.
The tournament will kick off on 28 August 2017 at the indoor court of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bawshar. Teams from several ministries and government institutions will compete for the tournament’s trophy, including the Ministry of Sports Affairs, the Ministry of Civil Service, the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and Al Raffd Fund.
Ooredoo has maintained a strong dedication to supporting the government sector, not only for their telecommunications needs but also in strengthening ties and collaborations through these and other, more formal, activities. Together, the company and the public sector have continued to work hand-in-hand to provide people across Oman with the best services and customer satisfaction.
