Picture the possibilities with the LG G5
There is no doubt the camera is one of the most used features of a smartphone. The photos or videos taken from a smartphone have become as ubiquitous as the device itself, thanks to the almost limitless space afforded by social media.
It goes without saying then that the better the camera experience offered by smartphones, the more appealing they become for consumers – a sight not lost on LG when it launched its latest G5 model recently. Its dual camera setup on the rear is one of the headline features of the handset, boasting a 135-degreee wide angle lens, the widest available on any smartphone, which offers a viewing angle that is approximately 1.7 times wider than those of existing smartphone cameras and 15 degrees wider than the human eye’s field of view. The wide angle lens takes the camera experience to a different level, as users do not have to move further back from a subject to capture more landscape, taller building or larger groups.
The LG G5’s manual mode, retained from its predecessor, gives users impressive picture quality, and those with more advanced camera knowledge can do so much more with its ISO settings. The LG G5's front-facing camera, meanwhile, is an 8-megapixel offering, which should do more than enough to keep selfie aficionados happy.
As if these enhancements are not enough, LG did one better by introducing a new set of modular components that come with the G5.
The ground-breaking modular approach to G5 has enabled LG to introduce an equally innovative range of extensions and accessories for the handset, one of which is the LG CAM Plus, a versatile camera module that can be attached through the battery slot to deliver three key features. It provides physical buttons for power, shutter, record, zoom, LED indicator for a more comfortable grip. It also offers intuitive auto focus and exposure lock, features usually found on standalone digital cameras. And when attached to the LG G5, it provides an additional battery capacity of 1,200mAh to allow for longer shooting times for more fun and enjoyment.
“On its own the G5 already offers superior camera features, but with the addition of the LG CAM Plus, we hope to give smartphone users additional functionality and value,” said Mr. Yong Geun Choi, President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE.
With better quality, longer shooting times and a comfortable grip akin to using a real camera, the possibilities for taking great pictures and videos just became endless.
