Qatar Foundation and Qatar Museums Host Public Art Event
Qatar Foundation (QF) and Qatar Museums (QM) recently hosted an event titled ‘The Power of Public Art’, at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), which was a collaboration between QM’s Culture Pass initiative and QF’s Art Trail program.
Featuring a comprehensive talk moderated by Fahad Ahmed Al Obaidly, Culture Pass, QM, and facilitated by Layla I. Bacha, Art Specialist, QF, and Abdulrahman Al Ishaq, Head of Public Art, QM, the event gave attendees the opportunity to learn about the history of public art, and the value of art installations within the community.
As part of the event, attendees also visited Louise Bourgeois’ Spider Sculpture ‘Maman’, and a piece of recently-loaned Berlin Wall.
