QIB has come a long way in its journey of attracting national talent with the Qatarization rate reaching 30 percent by the end of 2017.”

As part of its efforts to attract national talent, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Qatar’s leading Islamic Bank, participated in the fourth edition of the Education City Career Fair 2018, organised by Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU).

The fair provided an opportunity for the Bank to meet students from different educational institutions in Qatar and introduce them to Islamic banking and QIB job opportunities.

Commenting on its participation, Khalefa Al Mesalam, Head of Human Capital Group, said: “Investing in national talent is an integral part of QIB’s strategy. The Bank is always working to recruit young Qataris in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.”

He added, “The Board of Directors and the Executive Management have ensured alignment between the Bank’s Business and Human Capital strategies in order to prepare future financial experts who can lead and develop the banking sector in Qatar. Over the past few years, QIB has come a long way in its journey of attracting national talent with the Qatarization rate reaching 30 percent by the end of 2017.”

“ The Bank will continue this journey with a firm strategy, and keep providing its recruits continuous training and career advancement opportunities to develop their skills.”

“The career fair offered students and graduates a great opportunity to meet with prospective employers across the country. Such events serve the Banking Sector’s objective of attracting talent and building a national workforce capable of leading Qatar’s banking business today and in the future,” added Al Mesalam.

In 2017, QIB launched two fast-track career development programs for fresh Qatari graduates.

Through this on-going pioneering initiative, the Bank identifies Qatari talent and provides them with an educational journey to help their professional development.

The initiative is supported by a mobile application that QIB launched in 2016 to provide participants the support they need throughout the program. The app brings in a bigger picture to the participants and helps them decide what career path to take.
