Samsung partners with MBC Group to launch SHAHID application

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd announced the launch of SHAHID Application on Samsung Smart TVs today, in partnership with MBC Group, the first private free-to-air satellite broadcasting company in the Arab World. For the first time, the region’s leading video-on-demand (VOD) service will be available on Samsung Smart TVs & Curved TVs for the first time across the region.
In 2013, 284 million people used SHAHID Application & SHAHID.NET to watch their favorite shows, and home viewers can now watch the same programs across the range of their Samsung Smart TVs.

Barnett added that SHAHID viewers will be able to choose between SD and HD picture-viewing to match their broadband network and speed.
SHAHID will benefit from Samsung’s eight-year-strong lead in the global TV market. The curved screen gives video content a wider field of view, creating a panoramic effect that brings images to life, while enveloping viewers in true-to-life clarity and detail. Samsung’s Auto Depth Enhancer automatically adjusts the image contrast for a greater sense of depth, creating a 3D effect without the glasses. Coupled with Samsung’s signature PurColor technology, images on screen are heightened to bring the filmmakers’ vision to life.
