Samsung strengthens its premium Notebook portfolio

Samsung Electronics, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, today announced the expansion of its premium notebook portfolio with the launch of the advanced Series 9 and Series 7 notebooks at GITEX Technology Week. The introduction of the new line-up marks Samsung’s foray into the premium notebook segment. 

Following the immense success of the premium Series 9 notebook, launched in May this year across the GCC, this popular notebook is now available in an upgraded version that includes the latest Intel Core i7 processor, 6GB of DDR memory and up to 256GB SSDs. In addition, the Samsung Series 7 CHRONOS notebook, introduced for the first time in the region, delivers exceptionally high PC performance while maintaining an ultraportable form factor.

Series 9

Samsung introduces its flagship premium notebook, the Series 9 in an upgraded Intel Core i7 processor. Crafted from duralumin, a lightweight material that is twice as strong as aluminum and normally used in advanced aircraft design, the 13.3” notebook weighs only 1.31kg (2.88lbs.) while measuring only 16.3mm (0.64inches) in depth. Equipped with Microsoft Windows 7, up to  6GB DDR memory and a solid state drive up to 256GB, the Series 9 Notebook provides users 60 percent faster booting (compared to a hard disk drive notebook), optimized power and solid performance. 

Samsung’s Fast Start instant-on feature allows users to start working within 15 seconds and become immersed in a truly mobile lifestyle while the notebook PC recovers from sleep mode in 3 seconds flat. The Series 9 battery life lasts up to three times longer than a typical notebook battery. PowerPlus is Samsung’s optimized battery charging technology that extends battery life in concert with the notebook’s power-efficient lithium-polymer battery. 

The Series 9 notebook is available across major electronics stores and retails at AED 6999.  

Series 7 CHRONOS

Samsung’s Series 7 is full-featured premium notebook encased in a stunningly thin and compact aluminum chassis. The high-spec Series 7 CHRONOS features the latest Intel Core i7 Quad Core processor, the ExpressCache™* technology, 6GB of DDR memory and Samsung’s proprietary FastStart feature. These advanced enables a faster start-up as well as increasing the overall performance while Quick Boot feature ensures the notebook is ready to go – from cold – in just 19 seconds.  

Traditionally, consumers have often had to compromise between a larger screen size or smaller form factor. With the Series 7 CHRONOS   which incorporates ‘MAX screen’ technology, consumers no longer need to make a compromise. The Series 7 CHRONOS enables users to experience up to an extra inch of immerse viewing without sacrificing mobility or portability, with the 15.6” display, for example, being contained within the form factor traditionally associated with a 15” model.

The Series 7 CHRONOS will be available in the across major electronics stores by the end of November and will retail at AED 5999.
