Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB) participated in the 24th National Career Exhibition, organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry from October 18 to 20, at the Expo Center Sharjah, alongside many public and private sector companies in the United Arab Emirates.

Promoting and empowering Emirati talent

Fadheela AL Marzouqi, Acting Head of Human Resources at Sharjah Islamic Bank, said: "The SIB is keen to participate annually in the National Career Fair, as part of its permanent commitment to promoting and empowering young Emirati cadres to work in the banking and financial field. SIB aims to attract national talent, including recent graduates and those with work experience to join its distinguished team. Human Resources works to ensure a work environment that enhances confidence and is based on respect and progression on merit.”

Employees are the focus of innovation

Al Marzouqi pointed out that employees are at the forefront of the bank's priorities as they provide an innovative banking experience to customers. She emphasised that the SIB successfully offers multiple job opportunities focused on development programs, competency-based training, and qualifications to enhance and develop the skills and expertise of all employees.

Emiratisation and development programs

The SIB adopts several programs designed to attract, train and qualify citizens in the banking sector.  The "Masar" program meets the professional needs of the Emirati employee and develops leadership capabilities, extending from two to three years. The "Ruwad", is an intensive training program for recent graduates holding a bachelor's degree or higher diploma from higher education institutions. The "Mehnati" program is designed to provide university and college students with professional experience in the banking and financial field.

Diverse career opportunities

Sharjah Islamic Bank is continuously developing services to meet the needs of corporates, individuals, and investors and creating more job opportunities for administrators at various levels and grades. The recruitment team works at the SIB’s pavilion participating in the exhibition to greet young Emiratis looking for work and receive their applications.

Sharjah Islamic Bank has received many awards and certificates in appreciation of its outstanding efforts in supporting the Emiratisation strategy within the banking sector in the country. The bank has received the Emirates Emiratisation Award in its first session (large establishments category), the Human Resources Award in the banking sector, and the Dubai Development Award for Humanity.

Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB) started servicing the society in 1975; providing banking services to individuals and companies. An Amiri decree; released by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qassimi the member of the Supreme Council & Ruler of Sharjah, was issued to launch & green-light the bank’s expedition. The bank was originally founded as National Bank of Sharjah and was suited the first bank to convert to Islamic Banking in 2002.
